Brief Description Finance Intern Position Summary The Finance Intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting financial analysis, reporting, and business operations within a fast‑paced retail environment. Interns will work at the Lids Corporate Office in Indianapolis, IN under the guidance of experienced mentors while contributing to real business projects and cross‑functional initiatives. This program is designed to complement academic learning while providing meaningful exposure to corporate finance and data‑driven decision making. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Analyze operational data to identify trends, efficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Support financial modeling and evaluate corporate spending to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Analyze sales trends and assist with forecasting activities. Assist in preparing ROI analyses for capital projects and marketing initiatives. Partner with inventory accounting teams to analyze inventory flow and cost efficiency. Reconcile sales, tender, and chargeback data across store and ecommerce channels. Collaborate with interns and cross‑functional teams on projects and presentations. Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Build reports and present findings clearly and professionally. Contribute to team projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives. Job Required Knowledge And Skills Minimum 3.0 GPA and currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field at an accredited college or university. Full‑time student status required for participation. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Interest in financial analysis, reporting, and business operations. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical Demands & Requirements Internship is conducted on‑site at the Lids Corporate Office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Must be available for the full internship program duration. Ability to constantly sit at a desk in a sedentary work environment. Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment. Ability to occasionally stand and walk throughout the office. Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds. Ability to frequently communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to occasionally present information to small and large groups, including team members and leadership. Ability to constantly view electronic/written materials and adjust focus when needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
