Position Responsibilities

This role leads the Financial Reporting function with 5 direct reports. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing finance and accounting aspects related to leases, fixed assets, debt, returns reserve, receivables, corporate accruals, and other general accounting areas.
• Overseeing the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
• Preparing the budget and bi-weekly forecast for rent, depreciation, and certain reserves, with variance analysis and risk identification.
• Directing accounting for complex areas like leases and fixed assets, including transaction evaluation and technical assessments.
• Training and developing team members, providing direction, and maintaining morale.
• Maintaining current accounting policies and researching accounting guidance.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience in Financial Reporting and/or Corporate Accounting. Public accounting experience is a plus.
• 2+ years management experience

Critical Skills & Attributes

• Deep knowledge of US GAAP
• Retail industry experience is a plus
• Proven understanding of financial transaction recording, classification, examination, and analysis
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; flexible in dealing with changes and shifting priorities
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and direct/supervise others
• Ability to work cooperatively with other associates and outside vendors while maintaining company integrity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (moderately complex knowledge of Excel)
• CPA certification is a plus
