Position Title: Senior Manager of Suicide Prevention Program

Status:  Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To:  Strategy Officer/Prevention Director

Location:  Oregon or SW Washington – This position is a hybrid position that requires the ability to attend some meetings and events in the state of Oregon and has the option to work remotely part-time if telecommuting requirements can be met.

Salary: $70,000 - $78,000 depending on education and experience. Please see more information below about the benefits package.

We offer help and hope to individuals and communities, and promote mental health for all. Our work addresses a spectrum of needs that include intervention, prevention, and advocacy. We educate, train, and advocate to prevent issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and thoughts of suicide from reaching crisis levels. But when a crisis arises, or support is needed, we are available 24/7/365 to intervene with personalized help.

Senior Manager of Suicide Prevention Program Position Summary:  The Senior Suicide Prevention Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for Lines for Life’s suicide prevention portfolio. This role leads program development, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement while ensuring programs are effective, sustainable, equitable, and responsive to community needs. The Senior Advisor also serves as a key external representative of Lines for Life, building strong relationships with community partners, tribes, public agencies, funders, and other stakeholders.

Senior Manager of Suicide Prevention Program Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Work with senior management to establish goals and strategies for suicide prevention and develop and execute plans for implementing the strategies with scalable and sustainable infrastructure and systems.
• Program Coordination and Implementation: Oversee the development and execution of suicide prevention programs. Integrate the voices of individuals with lived experience and from marginalized and/or underserved communities in order to have recovery-oriented, equitable programs.
• Policy Development: Assist in creating and interpreting policies and procedures related to suicide prevention services.
• Provide oversight and support of the planning, development, facilitation, accreditation, implementation, and evaluation of community-facing suicide prevention programs, including conferences, trainings, meetings, webinars, outreach activities, and other public-facing initiatives, in coordination with interdepartmental partners.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of Lines for Life’s prevention programs and recommend improvements.
• Reporting: Prepare reports, studies, and research projects to inform policy and program decisions.
• Resource Management: Ensure efficient use of resources to support program goals.
• Grant Writing & Fiscal Oversight: Lead program development to include securing funding, grant writing, program implementation, budget oversight, contract compliance, evaluation, and reporting.
• Leadership & Supervision: Provide direct supervision to suicide prevention and postvention staff, including regular one-on-one coaching and supervision, work assignment and prioritization, performance feedback and recognition, annual evaluations, timesheet review where applicable, and identifying and supporting professional development opportunities. Collaborate with Human Resources for support on personnel management as needed. Direct reports currently include the Suicide Rapid Response Program Lead and Community Engagement Coordinator.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Provide support to interdepartmental projects and programs that further the mission of suicide prevention.
• Demonstrate the culture of Lines for Life by modeling behavior that supports the goals and philosophies of Lines for Life.
• Perform other duties, administrative, and organizational tasks as assigned.

Senior Manager of Suicide Prevention Program Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related behavioral health field (public health, social work, clinical counseling, etc.) OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field combined with five or more years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience coordinating and/or supporting a coalition, social services program, or relevant project.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to assess data and program outcomes to make informed decisions and recommendations.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Leadership: Capability to lead and motivate teams, manage projects, and drive strategic initiatives.
• Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse groups.
• Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
• Technical Expertise: Knowledge of suicide prevention strategies, policies, and best practices.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing needs and environments.
• Technology Proficiency: Excellent technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office systems and web environments.
