Surgery Oncology - Physician Assistant

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a temporary assignment in Pasadena, CA. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):

• Support breast surgeon in clinic, pre-op, and post-op settings
• Work within an Outpatient Surgery/Oncology specialty environment
• See an average of 10 patients per day, with variable patient volume
• Provide care to an adult patient population
• Utilize EPIC EMR system for documentation and charting
• Work collaboratively with support staff including medical assistants, front office staff, and LVNs
• Maintain active California state license and board certification
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain active DEA registration
• Apply surgical or oncology background to patient care delivery
• Work a Monday through Friday schedule, with flexibility between four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts
• Practice within both clinic/private practice and hospital settings as required
• Provide three (3) professional references and one (1) authoritative source reference as part of credentialing requirements
• Ensure references are from the same specialty area and have had exposure to clinical practice within the last two (2) years
• Complete credentialing process within the required 60-day timeframe
