Electrician is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPEEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsAdvise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardousMaintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levelsCompetent with programming of VFD’sConnect circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. In addition, join the wires in boxes with various specially designed connectorsReplace and/or repair items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, control circuits, faulty electrical switches, electrical and electronic components, switchgear, induction heaters, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactorsInstalls and maintains the electrical wiring, electrical equipment, and electronic controls for machines; new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; replaces and repairs wiring as neededLocates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsPeriodically inspect equipment, and locate and correct problems before breakdowns occurWhen breakdowns occur, Electrical Technician make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenienceFollow maintenance manual, blueprint, or engineering specification of each piece of equipmentCoordinate with equipment vendors if the equipment troubleshoot is not able to be repairedRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of partsConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvide guidance and expertise for future projects and plans, as well as modification of existing setups.Prepares electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsMay operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systemsResponds to emergency maintenance requests as requiredPerform and record preventive maintenance in accordance with company and manufacturer requirementsMay be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skillOther duties as assignedMinimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Electrician apprentice; Journeyman License or betterYears of Experience: 3 - 5 yearsNumber of Direct Reports: NoneJob Titles of Direct Reports: NoneSkills and Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have knowledge of National Electric Code and comply with State and Local building codes when installing, repairing, and maintenance systems. Must have knowledge of safety and OSHA Laws and Regulations. Must have knowledge and be able to work on the following: relay circuits, frequency change, low and medium voltage power circuits, semi-conductor elements, transistors and transformers. Must be able to understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form.
