The company’s commitment to finding new and better ways to RECLAIM, RECYCLE and REUSE bridges the sustainability goals of scrap tire generators nationwide with those of local scrap rubber consumers.The Senior Accountant serves as a key financial partner, working closely with the Regional Controller and collaborating with regional and site leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, support operational decision-making, and drive financial performance. This position is responsible for managing general ledger activities, supporting the month-end close process, performing account reconciliations, preparing financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Job ResponsibilitiesLead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustmentsPerform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepanciesMaintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policiesCompile, analyze, and interpret financial data to support business operations and management decision-makingPrepare and review financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc analysesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processesAssist with consolidation and intercompany accounting activitiesPartner with operational and regional leadership to provide financial insights and recommendationsSupport annual audits and provide required documentation to external auditorsEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting regulations, and corporate policiesUtilize Sage 500 ERP and other financial systems to manage accounting and reporting functionsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controlsSkills and AbilitiesStrong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principlesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reportingStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadershipExperience with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsSelf-motivated with a proactive and results-oriented approachAbility to analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to support business objectivesDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional developmentEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required3-5 years of progressive accounting experience requiredStrong experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliationsExperience within manufacturing, industrial, recycling, logistics, or supply chain environments preferredExperience working with ERP systems required; Sage 500 experience preferredPower Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI experience preferredCPA designation or progress toward certification is a plusEEO Statement:Liberty Tire Recycling is an equal opportunity employer.
