Nurse Manager 4900 Unit (3-5 years of Oncology experience required)

Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager in a 4900 Unit (3-5 years of oncology experience required). In this role, the successful candidate provides clinical leadership and management of a designated care area on a twenty‑four‑hour basis, consistent with the philosophy, goals, and mission of NYU Langone Health. The manager assumes responsibility and accountability for all facets of nursing practice and performance within the area, develops a culture of excellence in patient/family service, staff growth, and quality nursing care, and fosters staff engagement and satisfaction. Participate in establishing the strategic area’s financial plan and provide data‑driven recommendations. Coordinate care delivery using labor productivity data to optimize staffing patterns. Ensure delivery of exemplary, cost‑efficient patient care. Coordinate and facilitate interdisciplinary teamwork and service standards. Design, implement, and evaluate programs ensuring compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and service standards. Participate in nursing and organizational policy development and approval. Collect, analyze, and use data to drive practice changes that integrate quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity metrics. Promote staff involvement in nursing research and evidence‑based practice efforts. Ensure staff compliance with maintaining licenses, certifications, and mandated learnings. Leverage high reliability concepts within the unit/organizational structure. Communicate with clarity and integrity to build trust with all stakeholders. Foster a culture of inquiry, innovation, and transformation focused on the future. Lead and support the development of new insights for complex situations, innovative designs, and processes. Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have: A current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State. Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association. A master’s degree in nursing. At least three years of pertinent clinical practice. A certification in nursing leadership upon eligibility. Ability to apply the nursing process to achieve specific outcomes. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications 3‑5 years of oncology experience required. 1‑2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Required Licenses Registered Nurse License - NYS, Basic Life Support Cert.
