We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic School-Based Special Education Teacher to join our team in Juneau School District. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic growth and independence within the school setting.

Job Description:

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is partnering with Juneau School District to find a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team.

As a Special Educator at Strides Therapy & Educational Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational journey of students with diverse learning needs. Collaborating closely with a team of fellow Special Educators, your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to enhance students' communication and language development within educational settings across Alaska.

Additional Details:

Expected Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Workplace Setting: In-person school
Number of Hires: 1-2

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Monitor and document student progress and participate in IEP meetings.
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid and current certification as a Special Educator in Alaska. (if applicable)
• Educator Certificate (if applicable)
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Dedication to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of special education.
