Effective written and oral communication skills. Flexibility and time management skills a must. Case management responsibilities, basic computer skills, knowledge of Special Education policies and procedures required. Completed a minimum of 100 clock hours of school field experiences supervised by a certified Speech Language Pathologist. At least one year of experience working with students with special needs preferred. Education, Registrations, Training or Certifications Eligible to hold a CDE Speech/Language Assistant authorization certificate. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred. Nationally recognized crisis prevention training preferred. Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders/Speech Sciences or successful completion of a School Speech Language Pathology Assistant program from an institution whose program meets or exceeds recommended guidelines established by the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
