Role Description: We are in high need of a Business Accounting (CFO)/ Business Manager.

\n

Likely about 20-30+ hours role. The more you rae able to do the better, including full-time.

\n

\n

Our agency has been a California bases S Corp until recently where we registered in New York.

\n

Our main office is in Westwood where we have about 15 employees.

\n

While we started as an S Corp, the CEO has an office and place in New York.

\n

Home is Los Angeles but buisness is clearly East Cosat focused.

\n

\n

We need One Key contact who really does most of the work themselves. Someone who sells themself then passes most of the duites on to administrative people will not work.

\n

\n

Further & traditionally, our buisness manager/CFO paid all bills, kept Amex and creidt cards, overseed and looked out for all necessary insurance- home, flooding, business, liability - everything.

\n

We had a CPA of 25 years (firm) who passed away suddenly and are securing a new CPA Firm.

\n

That said this person MUST be able to prepare the financials (with extensive experience in doing so) for the business accounting CPA firm.

\n

\n

KEY to note is all of this work is not 'board of directors work.'

\n

IF you have a JD or itnerest in LAW that is a plus. Our CEO is a lawyer. We work with the top global law firms (Have for 25+ years), and our CEO is like a agent - but for the most prominent Parnters in BIGLAW who move law firms, firms who do acqusitions, and groups who move all look to Amy to handle complex transactions.

Amy (the CEO) has an extreme work ethic as do her clients. Someone with this DNA is essential.

\n

Issues and clients dont give advance notice and being available some evenings and or weekends as needed is key.

\n

\n

Other duties include but are not limited to: Billing clients and handling fee wires; reconciliating back accounts, paying all bills, handling mortgate payments, paying all vendors, working with HR, ec.

\n

\n

This person will have a real office -not just an 'in-home' office.

\n

\n

A southern california base or within an hour from LA is preferred as the main office and employees are there. Otherwise the East Coast - New York or New Jersey.

\n

\n

The CFO piece includes overseeing ALL financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management. This includes: Paying all amex and credit cards, wiring money, invoicing, mataining fee agreements and law firm fee agreements, paying for everyting whether it be business expenses or related to the CEO's assets such as homes on both coasts and all that goes with it, paying vendors, Insurances, filling out loss reports for instance if any property is robbed; paying staff for the homes, reviewing all incoming payment requets, handlign all vendors.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial reporting, supervising the preparation and analysis of financial statements, preparing financials for the firm's CPA, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. The CFO will provide data-driven insights to leadership, establish and refine financial controls and policies, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.

The role also involves managing relationships with external auditors, banks, and key financial partners, while assessing financial risks and opportunities for the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong finance and financial planning skills, with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial management.

• 10 years of related experience
\n
• Job stability - which shows you will not pick up and leave when the going gets tough
\n
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
\n
• Expertise in financial reporting and data interpretation, supported by advanced analytical skills and attention to detail.
\n
• Proven leadership experience in senior finance roles, including managing teams and collaborating with executive leadership.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA certification is preferred.
\n
• Experience in professional services or legal industry environments is an advantage.
\n
• Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA, and to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance setting.
\n
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a commitment to ethical and transparent financial practices.
