Pharmacy Assistant - Northern Canada

The North West Company is hiring Pharmacy Assistants to support remote communities in northern Canada. This is a relocation position and includes full financial and logistical relocation support. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be certified by a college or online pharmacy technician school with at least two years of experience as a pharmacy assistant. Deliver superior customer service and participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations as required. Responsibilities Receive prescriptions from patients, follow provincial legal/regulatory conditions, and maintain patient confidentiality. Perform computer functions as directed (data entry, price check, patient information update, refills, report generation). Fill prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist or Regulated Pharmacy Technician. Select appropriate products, count, measure, and prepare medications. Label and organize prescriptions and obtain approvals for verbal refills where authorized. Facilitate all aspects of Cognitive Services. Maintain inventory control and assist in ensuring appropriate stock levels. Check for and pull expired medications at least monthly. Maintain supplies and clerical organization. Desired Skills & Experience Certification from a college/online pharmacy technician school (accreditation not required). Two or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant. Experience with report generation and preparing receipts, invoices, letters, and memos. Experience filling medication orders, measuring, mixing, packaging, labeling, and delivering. Ability to work under minimal supervision. Competent with Kroll pharmacy management system. Experience in retail or administration (asset). Great customer service skills. Strong communication (verbal and written). Policy and procedure driven, with respect for community differences.
