Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our air purifier company. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure optimum sourcing of the right product at the right time for the right price. The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s spending, supplying partnerships and new possibilities. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with other departments and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products to meet customer demand. This role supports future growth and global expansion of the company’s portfolio and ensures that external supplier capabilities and capacity meet Alen’s business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all aspects of cost, quality and delivery required to achieve revenue and margin targets for Alen.

• Develop negotiation strategies to reduce/eliminate supply shortages and provide cost management in line with Alen market share growth targets.

• Optimize terms and conditions for increased performance, profitability, and cash flow consulting with the Legal and Finance departments when required.

• Understand Alen’s product roadmaps and work with our manufacturing partners to ensure costs are in line to support.

• Manage the competitive request for proposal (RFP) or request for quotation (RFQ) process for all materials to ensure the sourcing team is negotiating the best overall value on behalf of Alen.

• Act as sourcing business partner to internal stakeholders by leading the supplier selection for new product development and by providing expert knowledge on approaching suppliers.

• Project manage all material sourcing events to minimize operational disruption, mitigate supplier risks, and increase Alen margin.

• Lead and Support cost reduction strategies.

• Provide regular report outs to Executive staff on progress to meet cost targets.

• Create KPIs and strategic goals/milestones for the sourcing team.

• Directs activities around new supplier assessments, disengagements, performance improvement plans, formal supplier reviews, and cost reduction opportunities, Scorecards, QBR, and related supplier management activities.

• Proactively manage and develop supplier relationships. Take leadership in periodic business reviews with suppliers and stakeholders and being the single point of contact for selected suppliers. Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and business reviews.

• Develop a supplier scorecard and hold regular reviews with each strategic partner.

• Oversee inventory control to support customer needs, achieve balance sheet targets, and mitigate inventory risk working in tandem with Demand Planning professional(s).

• Analyze inbound freight market trends and work with chosen company freight forwarder to maintain relationship while targeting lower freight costs.

• Develop and manage a high-performance sourcing team responsible for supporting relevant supplier-related and sourcing-related functions.

• Provide appropriate coaching and mentoring with staff personnel to optimize current performance, and to align on individual career path objectives.

• Drive Supply Chain Innovation

• Support tactical purchasing as needed.

• Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics, trends, benchmarks, and best practices.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and supply market trends that have an impact on the sourcing strategy, through good working relationships with existing and potential third-parties.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience in electronic components and/or mechanical commodity sets.

• 4+ years of experience in managing procurement professionals.

• Solid understanding of the Electronics, Mechanical, Plastics, and Small appliance market and can leverage industry connections.

• Demonstrated success with planning, conducting, and closing complex negotiations.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

• Multi-source international supplier network & outsourced manufacturing experience.

• Demonstrated successful experience at a senior level with broad supply chain responsibilities.

• Progressive responsibility in Supply Planning, Materials, Product Development, Procurement, and Logistics.

• Experience in ERP initiatives, Advanced Planning Systems, and familiarity with a broad variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures and specific expertise in global supply chain.

• Ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving efforts with C-level management and external contacts regarding supply chain issues as well as accounting and financial issues.

• Strong leadership and verbal/written communications skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) or related software.

• Proficient in using ERP systems and modules, Microsoft Business Central preferred.

• Proven knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Inventory Management.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or Supply Chain with MBA preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• PREFERRED: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) Certification OR Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) Certification OR Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Certification OR Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification
