Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and operate integrations between SAP S/4HANA or BTP and downstream systems.
- Develop ABAP, SAP HANA SQL, CDS views, business logic, reports, and data transformations.
- Build SAP APIs and interfaces using OData, RAP, SOAP web services, and RFC-based integrations.
- Build and operate AWS-native services including Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, ECS/Fargate, and Amazon ECR.
- Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure with CDK, including CI/CD pipelines, IAM roles, VPC/VPCE connectivity, and multi-environment topologies.
- Design and ship MCP servers, Bedrock agents, and Claude-powered workflows for Finance automation.
- Build data pipelines moving financial data between SAP, Redshift, and enterprise applications.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Tax stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Own production systems through deployment, monitoring, incident response, and iterative improvement.
- Contribute through code reviews, documentation, mentoring, and improvements to engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of hands-on SAP development experience with ABAP, HANA SQL, CDS views, BTP, or SAP integration technologies.
- At least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience deploying and operating production workloads.
- Experience with file-based and API-based integration patterns, including OData and SOAP.
- Experience with S/4HANA top-down development, CDS views, and AMDP classes.
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java in addition to ABAP, with production software delivery experience.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Bedrock in engineering workflows.
- Experience testing and debugging APIs with tools such as Bruno or Postman.
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0 authorization flows and OpenID Connect for securing API integrations.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design patterns and SOLID principles.
- Finance domain knowledge including FI/CO, FI/CA, AP, AR, or GL.
- Experience with production AI-powered automations, agentic workflows, MCP servers, Bedrock agents, LangGraph, Fiori applications using RAP, or S/4HANA embedded analytics is beneficial.
