Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer - Customer Analytics is a full-time, remote role that turns Kaya’s platform data into the dashboards and reporting our customers use to run their projects. You will sit directly with customer teams to understand how they track procurement, submittals, lead times, and delivery risk, then build the Power BI dashboards, data models, and integrations that make that information visible and actionable. Day to day, you will: Build customer-facing dashboards. Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for project executives, procurement leads, and owner stakeholders, covering equipment status, schedule risk, submittal progress, and supplier performance. Model and integrate customer data. Connect Kaya’s platform to customer data sources such as schedules, ERP exports, Procore, and spreadsheets, and build clean, reliable data models behind every report. Drive adoption and outcomes. Partner with Customer Success to run dashboard walkthroughs, support executive reviews and QBRs, and make sure customers are getting measurable value from the platform. Build supporting technical layers. Develop the APIs, data pipelines, and backend services that feed reporting and customize deployments to each client’s workflows. Own deployed reporting. Monitor data freshness and accuracy, troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and turn repeatable customer requests into standard templates and tooling. Close the loop with product. Bring customer feedback back to the product and engineering teams to shape Kaya’s native reporting and analytics roadmap. This role suits someone who is equally comfortable writing DAX, presenting a dashboard to a project executive, and debugging a data pipeline - and who wants to work at the intersection of analytics, customer success, and real-world construction operations. Qualifications Required 2+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, including DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling (star schema), and publishing and managing reports in Power BI Service (workspaces, gateways, scheduled refresh, row-level security). Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and messy, real-world data sources. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred) for data transformation, automation, and API integration. Experience building APIs or data pipelines that feed reporting and analytics. Track record of building dashboards for external customers or client executives, not only internal teams. Customer success or client-facing experience - running walkthroughs, gathering requirements, driving adoption, and translating business questions into reporting. Project management skills to coordinate implementations across multiple accounts, manage timelines, and prioritize effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain data and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving environment. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Nice to Have Experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure, especially procurement, project controls, or supply chain. Familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction platforms. Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Looker, or with embedded analytics.
