Location: Onsite – Carlsbad, CA (M-F)

Schedule:

• Training: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (first couple weeks)
• Standard: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• OT available (not guaranteed; can include extended hours + Saturdays)

Interview Process:

• One and done onsite interview typically after 1 PM PST
• No interviews Thursday afternoons

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a  Manufacturing Technician for a leading advanced manufacturing client in the electro-mechanical equipment space. This candidate will be responsible for building, testing, and qualifying complex systems used in high-precision industries such as aerospace, medical devices, and microelectronics. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working with electrical components like wiring and harnesses. This role requires someone who can think critically, troubleshoot issues, and work from schematics and technical documentation to bring a system from initial assembly through final testing and shipment. Personality, reliability, and a strong work ethic are prioritized over years of experience, with excellent opportunities for growth into more advanced technical roles

Must-Haves:

• Experience or strong aptitude in  electro-mechanical assembly
• Ability to  build systems from components (mechanical + electrical)
• Basic electrical skills:  crimping, soldering, wire harnessing
• Ability to  read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
• Strong  troubleshooting mindset  (electrical/mechanical issues)
• Comfortable working from  procedures and documentation
• Hands-on experience (professional OR personal): cars, wiring, building, etc.
• Dependability and strong attendance (“availability is your best ability”)
• Computer basics : email, logging issues, documentation
• Ability to work independently and  hit the ground running

Plusses:

• Experience with capital equipment or complex systems build
• Background in companies like  General Atomics, Nordson, Semtech, Qualcomm
• Experience with  test equipment (oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies)
• Exposure to  high-mix, low-volume manufacturing
• Knowledge of  lean manufacturing / 5S principles
• Experience with  plumbing, vacuum systems, or point-to-point wiring (SST ovens)
• Previous  qualification/testing experience of systems
• Associates degree or technical certification

Day-to-Day:

• Build electro-mechanical systems from the ground up (“widgets to full system”)
• Assemble subcomponents (e.g., bond heads, e-chassis, cables)
• Follow  technical drawings, schematics, and procedures
• Perform  system testing and qualification (can take 72+ hours)
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical/electrical issues
• Verify documentation accuracy and provide feedback
• Work on:
• • Full system builds (assigned to one system)
  • Sub-assemblies (multiple builds per day)
• Log issues, document errors, and communicate findings
• Collaborate with engineering and training leads (Taylor as initial POC)
