Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in the ICU setting, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver top-quality critical care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

• Administer advanced nursing interventions for critically ill patients, including management of ventilators and critical drips.
• Monitor patient vital signs, equipment, and clinical status, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Perform invasive procedures such as central line insertion, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, and intubation.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures including TEE, thoracentesis, and pericardiocentesis.
• Document patient care accurately utilizing the Sunrise EMR system and communicate effectively with the care team.
• Maintain core certifications such as ACLS and BLS, and stay compliant with unit policies and protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid nursing license in hand prior to submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Strong knowledge of critical care procedures and telemetry monitoring.
• Ability to perform invasive procedures, including central lines and arterial lines.
• Excellent organizational skills with adaptability to fluctuating patient acuity.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
