We have an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician I - 2nd shift

Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Location: Lititz, PA 

Pay rates starting at $27.36/hr plus $2.00/hr for shift differential. Starting rate will be based off of experience.

SCOPE & BASIC FUNCTION :  

Manufacturing Technician I’s are part of the production team.  Their success is determined by the positive way in which they communicate, cooperate, interact, problem solve and contribute towards achieving their workcenter goals and objectives. 

Manufacturing Technician I’s are responsible for troubleshooting machines, setting up tooling and equipment and optimizing equipment uptime, in various workcenters. They are capable of responding rapidly to situations to meet production plans and service the requirements of our customers. 

Manufacturing Technician I’s are responsible for quality, throughput and safety.  They participate as team members in solving problems and implementing solutions to increase Woodstream’s manufacturing productivity. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assure equipment availability and readiness to meet the production schedule requirements and throughput rates established for the work centers.

• Maintain uptime on all production equipment to meet throughput rates on a consistent and reliable basis.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical machine problems quickly, perform effective troubleshooting of equipment, tools and process to maintain production of machinery. When appropriate, seek additional technical support, as required.
• Technician is the machine expert and should possess ability to run, operate and pass operator certification for assigned work center. 
• Consistently follows all lockout/tagout policies & procedures and applies that knowledge at all times when working on equipment and machinery.
• Operates forklift and high lift equipment.  Must be certified and demonstrate safe operation of  equipment at all times.
• Complete set ups in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with all scheduled production requirements.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers in improving the performance of equipment and processes and participate in the implementation of ideas that reduce downtime and improve overall productivity.
• Assure that spare parts are stocked and available for immediate use, to minimize downtime. Work with Inventory Specialist to identify part numbers. 
• Provide quality instruction, education and support to other Manufacturing Technicians and production operators.
• Demonstration of safety awareness and execution of safety policies and procedures at all times, while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
• Will assist in operations, in any way deemed essential to meet Woodstream’s production requirements.

• Regular attendance and punctuality required  

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Production & Packaging Equipment
    (thermoforming, die cutting, liquid fillers, vertical fillers, flow wrapping, labeling, printing, cartoners, case erecting, palletizing, check weighers)
  • Material Handling & Feeding Systems
    (conveyors, bulk feeders, bowl feeding, de-nesting, material handling systems)
  • Forming, Pressing & Fabrication Equipment
    (presses, stamping, wire forming, resistance welding)
  • Automation & Motion Control Systems
    (PLCs/controls, servo systems, cam-driven systems, robotics)
  • Process & Mixing Equipment
    (mixing systems, pumps, web handling systems)
  • Facility & Utility Systems
    (chillers, supporting utilities)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER SKILLS :

• HSD / GED required or proven on the job related technical experience
• 3-5 years of combined work experience in maintenance or high volume manufacturing environment.
• Ideally, candidate will have a certification in hydraulic, electrical, or pneumatics. 
• Will be repairing the following types of equipment in a fast paced quality oriented environment: conveyors, motors, pneumatics, horizontal flow rappers, baggers, case erectors, wire mesh welders, tapers, welders, presses, fillers, gearboxes, pump systems, pneumatics, hydraulic systems, and various pieces of custom production equipment.
• An understanding of basic math skills.
• The ability to use basic measurement tools.
• Hands on experience with basic machining tools.
• The ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Set- up/troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience in a machine based manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Effective problem solving skills directed at increasing throughput, quality and safety.
• Ability to continually learn and develop new skills and knowledge.
• Methodical and effective troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Initiative to pursue both personal and team goals and objectives.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Ability to pass the T1 qualification test in English
