Financial Analyst

Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst with 2-5 years’ experience. The role with Becknell Industrial will provide the opportunity to gain exposure to varying facets of commercial real estate including development, capital markets, leasing, acquisition, management, and construction. Role: The Financial Analyst role will involve assessing land purchases and ground-up development opportunities as well as managing building acquisitions and asset-related functions to drive the growth of Becknell's national industrial property portfolio. This position requires the candidate to deliver analytical support and project assistance to Business Development, Capital Markets and Leasing. The position requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills alongside analytical capabilities to enable close collaboration throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include: Work in conjunction with Becknell’s Business Development and Capital Markets teams to oversee the analysis of opportunities such as land acquisition, building acquisitions, development projects, business partnerships and dispositions. Create proforma models, investment memos, Build-to-Suit proposal responses, and capital books along with other presentations for senior management. Prepare and analyze proforma models, discounted cash flow models, and joint venture models with detailed waterfalls to evaluate the various projects. Actively engage with brokers and consultants for underwriting and presentation materials. Support pipeline tracking and portfolio reporting. Take responsibility for managing all assigned special projects. Success Requirements: The ideal candidate should demonstrate 2-5 years of full-time real estate or construction work experience which covers development activities and functions related to finance and capital markets. Experience with industrial / warehouse / logistics property type is a plus. Show a high-level expertise in MS Excel combined with excellent quantitative and analytical abilities for creating, evaluating, and refining complex financial models. The candidate should show proficient understanding of financial metrics including net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), JV waterfall distributions, debt ratios, along with real estate concepts such as capitalization rates and tenant lease structures. Ability to critically analyze, interpret and synthesize complex real estate related information found in documents such as Letters of Intent (LOIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), offering memorandums (OMs), market research reports, and lease contracts. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail. Must be able to work on multiple projects at a time and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines. Undergraduate degree in real estate, finance, accounting, or a related field with a strong record of achievement preferred. Proficiency in MS Excel, Argus, MS Word, Smart Sheets, PowerPoint, and other relevant platforms. Proven understanding of Argus Cloud cash flow reporting and how to integrate and report to MS Excel. Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. Some travel may be required.
