Quality Control Technician

Quality Management System PositionThis position will assist in establishing and maintaining processes and procedures for the development of the Quality Management System. Work in a team environment with engineering, production personnel and suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer expectations.Major Responsibilities/Activities:Work with production, engineering, field services, and suppliers to develop corrective action plans that address and resolve quality issuesEnsure corrective action owners expedite the closure of open issues to facilitate on-time shipment of quality productsFacilitate development of quality documents to support the quality management systemPerform and record quality control evaluations on individual products, assembly processes, and finished productsUtilize drawings and various measuring devices for compliance testing of materials received for productionComplete and document verification checks on measuring/testing equipmentSupport and enforce the Quality Management System and Continuous Improvement processesAct on Engineering Change Requests, Customer Complaints, Alerts, and Service issues as neededResearch and implement new testing methods for product testing and verificationMinimum Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDQuality Assurance training with 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with manufacturing equipment and processesStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plusAble to work with minimal supervision and accomplish goals in a timely mannerFamiliar with ERP systems and concepts, SAP preferredLead methodology experienceMechanical design experience a plusEssential Mental/Physical Functions:Analytical problem solverEffective communicatorHigh level of visual awarenessAbility to stand for long periodsBe able to safely lift or move at least 50 lbsBe able to safely climb stairs or ladderEquipment Used: Computer, TelephoneTravel: <5%Hörmann is a premier manufacturer of garage doors.
