Laser Operator II

Glenn Metalcraft is searching for a skilled and dedicated Laser Operator II to join our dynamic team and help us continue to deliver exceptional products.The Laser Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.1st shift currently operates 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAdvanced understanding of various machinery and equipment necessary to produce metal componentsMust follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag outPromote “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensure staff are following safety procedures/guidelinesUnderstand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hourConsistent and accurate counts of materials and productsPerforms necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communicationAbility to perform advanced adjustments and repairs to machinesAbility to setup workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiencyMaintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established proceduresAbility to recall and input programsPerform complete machine set ups without assistanceMaintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and managementMay assist with running multiple Lasers as neededAbility to load new consumables and troubleshootAccurately check out tools through tool crib inventory systemAbility to qualify first part approval for inspectionAssists with performing preventative maintenance as neededAbility to read, write and save setup sheets for various machinesAbility to adjust cut conditions for best performance/timeAbility to change gases and adjust pressures as needed.Perform small programming editsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 2 years laser cutting experience and working knowledge of basic troubleshootingAbility to safely perform work in varying work conditionsWorking knowledge of machinery with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferredAbility to understand and follow instructionsEffective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgencyAbility to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and Faro ArmAbility to be forklift certifiedAbility to follow hoist safety protocolsSelf-motivated, takes initiativePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basisAbility to stand for up to 10 hoursExcellent hand/eye coordinationDemonstrated ability to effectively use power toolsGood manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaConsistently wear personal protective equipmentAbility to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levelsYou should be proficient in:Troubleshooting SkillsCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverMachine Setups for Production RunsMachines & technologies you'll use:CNC Laser Cutter (Mazak) #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
