Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for laboring or postpartum patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications as prescribed, assist with deliveries, and provide postpartum care.
- Perform ongoing assessments, document findings, and contribute to care planning and modification as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of various nursing staff levels; coordinate care with obstetric team and other disciplines using critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Educate patients and families on care plans, newborn care, and discharge instructions; support emotional and psychosocial needs.
- Ensure safe, high-quality care through adherence to safety, infection control, and documentation standards.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1+ year of labor and delivery nursing experience or demonstrated L&D competency for travel assignments (preferred)
- Ability to work nights and participate in a travel assignment
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
