Field Service Technician - NevadaSandvik Mining is looking for a Field Service Technician in Nevada. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.As the Field Service Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites. The Field Service Technician is also responsible for new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision. This role will largely cover the Nevada/Utah market.Additionally, the Field Service Technician will:Inspect equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctionsAdjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of workTests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performanceComplete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts listsActively participate in continuous improvement initiativesStay current with the industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices Customer ServiceBuild strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfactionStay current and in compliance with all Sandvik, Customer, State, and Federal regulatory safety policies.Ensure customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibilityThe Field Service Technician will spend their time working underground and surface, so candidates must be comfortable with these conditions. As this role requires minimal travel, you will be provided with a company vehicle. For one role, you will be assigned to Nevada Gold Mine, and for the other 2 open roles, there will be other mine sites.This position is located in the Elko area or Winnemucca or Battle Mountain.Minimum qualifications for this role:At least 5 years experience or education in the area of: Mechanical and/or Electrical troubleshooting on medium/high voltage equipmentKnowledge and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems on heavy equipmentCapability to interpret diagnostics from advanced onboard systems to pinpoint faultsUnderstanding of and conforming to ISO standardsDriver's license and clean driving recordPreferred Qualifications:Possess a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields or a minimum of 7 years industry related experienceExperience working on mining equipmentYou are a team player with excellent communication and active listening skills and the ability to maintain strong customer relations with internal and external customers.You are flexible and self-motivated, with a drive to achieve customer satisfaction.A safety champion capable of working alone and stopping work, if requiredFamiliar with MSHA standardsExcellent troubleshooting ability with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsPossess strong interpersonal skills with a customer service based personalityAbility to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematicsCompensationPay range for this role is $33.00 to $36.00/hour and is eligible for overtime and holiday pay.ScheduleCurrent schedule is 5 days a week, occasionally up to 16 hours/day with the possibility to move to 4 days a week scheduleBenefitsSandvik offers a comprehensive total compensation package including a competitive benefits package of health, dental and disability insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
