Clinical Pharmacist PRN Valley Regional Medical Center invites experienced pharmacists to join as a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to provide pharmaceutical care and support medication safety and efficacy. Job Summary The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy through comprehensive pharmacy services. Responsibilities include overseeing pharmaceutical services, monitoring therapeutics, coordinating cost‑effective care, and supporting department goals. Responsibilities Transcribes physician orders into Meditech Order Entry System accurately. Verifies the right drug, dosage, route, patient, and time for all physician orders received. Performs calculations to enhance patient care. Performs daily morning rounds to ensure pharmaceutical care accuracy. Prepares and oversees preparation of IV products and chemotherapy using aseptic technique in accordance with Chapter 797 regulations. Effectively processes and distributes medication throughout the facility. Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team members. Recommends alternative drug therapies to optimize patient outcomes. Resolves issues related to Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs). Verifies all medications dispensed before distribution. Qualifications Current Texas Pharmacist License. One‑year hospital experience or equivalent.
