Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant, who will be primarily responsible for overseeing accounting and reporting for the company's various investment funds and will report to the Controller and CFO. The Senior Accountant will also assist with all aspects of the finance, accounting, compliance, and operation functions of the Company; manage the quarterly/year-end closing process and annual audits for multiple investment partnerships in concert with the outsourced fund administrator; assist with all aspects of financial reporting to the Limited Partners, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, and associated partners' capital accounts as well as assist with the tracking and billing of portfolio companies on a monthly and quarterly basis.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant alternative investment firm and/or fund administration experience, a high degree of organization, extensive exposure to partnership accounting and tax, and possess a strong technical aptitude.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Work closely with the outsourced Fund administrator and oversee preparation of quarterly and annual fund financial statements, capital calls, distributions, and related reporting to the Limited Partners, assisting with ad hoc Limited Partner reporting as needed
• Maintain the investor portals
• Partnership accounting for private investment funds, which may include the primary limited partner funds, general partner entities, alternative investment vehicle structures, and various portfolio reporting
• Heavy utilization of Excel to perform daily tasks
• Cash management and treasury function for all investment funds to determine timing and amount for capital calls and distributions, including reserves and required withholdings as well as managing bill payments
• Liaise and manage auditors for interim and year-end
• Assist with investment transactions including funds flow review, fund investment allocations, preparation of wires, and sharing of documentation with outsourced Fund administrator
• Assist during fundraising with due diligence questionnaires and updating supporting schedules as needed
• Ensure compliance with internal investment policies and procedures
• Assist with management fee, waterfall allocation, IRR calculation, and other complex calculations
• Assist with tax, regulatory, credit facility and other filings
• Assist the CCO in various aspects of SEC compliance including managing the annual vendor diligence process
• Assist with various questionnaires and surveys
• Assist the CFO and the Controller with various aspects of management company finance function, including but not limited to, the cash management and treasury function with various bank accounts, including sweeps and investment accounts
• Assist in allocation calculations for Fund related expenses and track and monitor any intercompany balances between Fund entities and the Management Company
• Assist in portfolio company billing process for reimbursement of expenses and quarterly fees
• Manage the employee monthly expense reporting process and train new employees on expense policy and procedures
• Provide all documentation and support to the administrator as needed
• Assist the CFO and the Controller with administration of office including insurance, staffing, leases, annual filings, etc.
• Assist in managing vendor relationships including contact information, collection of Form W-9s and annual oversight of 1099 preparation for service providers
• Assist in managing support staff in all finance/accounting/tax related admin support
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned to support the business functions and special projects of the Company
• Use AI to find ways to be more efficient throughout

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 2-4 years of relevant alternative investment firm/fund administration experience; CPA a plus
• Must be strong user of Microsoft Excel and able to learn and master other complex software programs
• Knowledge of partnership accounting software is desirable

Compensation ranges from $100,000 -120,000 plus bonus. Final offers take into account experience, education, training, and other business and market factors. Candidates with broader or more specialized experience may be considered at a different level, which may impact the compensation package offered
