Matcharista / Barista (Part-Time)

About Us

Koki Koki Bakehouse is a cozy, modern café specializing in premium Japanese matcha, hojicha, specialty coffee, and freshly baked cookies.

We’re looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Matcharista / Barista to join our small team!

We value quality, consistency, genuine hospitality, teamwork, and a clean, welcoming café environment.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and serve high-quality matcha, hojicha, espresso-based drinks, and other specialty beverages.

* Provide warm, friendly, and attentive customer service.

* Assist with baking cookies and basic pastry preparation as needed.

* Work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced café environment.

* Maintain consistent drink quality, taste, and presentation.

* Keep workstations, equipment, kitchen areas, and customer spaces clean and organized throughout each shift.

* Take customer orders and operate the POS system.

* Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking duties.

* Take initiative and support teammates whenever needed.

* Follow food safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

* Basic knowledge of matcha preparation and espresso-based beverages.

* Basic baking experience is a plus.

* Friendly, cheerful, and approachable personality with a positive attitude.

* Strong customer service and communication skills.

* Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient during busy periods.

* Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.

* Reliable, punctual, responsible, and a strong team player.

* Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and follow recipes and procedures.

* Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.

* Must be available to work weekends, including Saturdays and/or Sundays.

* Must have or obtain an Oregon Food Handler Card before performing food-handling duties.
