The Grand Health Care Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time position in our outpatient office. In this critical role, the PTA will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver personalized care to our diverse patient population, enhancing their functional abilities and overall quality of life.

Work Environment

Located in the vibrant city of Jacksonville, our outpatient office provides a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where team collaboration is essential. The PTA will work onsite, engaging directly with patients in a fully equipped therapy clinic. Our typical working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, occasional flexibility may be required to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing tailored treatment plans that focus on improving patients’ mobility, strength, and functionality.
• Guide patients through a series of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to enhance their physical health and alleviate pain.
• Educate patients about proper body mechanics, effective exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to empower their recovery process.
• Administer therapeutic modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold treatments.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and functional capabilities.
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain equipment to ensure every therapy session is executed efficiently.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team comprising Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to optimize patient care and achieve exceptional outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement during therapy, fostering a motivating environment conducive to recovery.
• Adhere to ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality, and respecting the rights and privacy of all individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will serve a diverse clientele, ranging from children to elderly patients, each with unique rehabilitation needs. This role requires sensitivity and adaptability to effectively address various conditions and challenges, ensuring personalized care that reflects our commitment to patient-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic practices pertinent to physical therapy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in assisting with therapeutic exercises and modalities under professional supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling the PTA to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, reflecting a genuine desire to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Strong attention to detail with effective time management skills.
• Commitment to continual professional development and staying informed about advancements in the field of physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting is highly desirable.
• Exposure to various rehabilitation specialties such as sports therapy, geriatrics, or pediatrics is a plus.
• Proficiency with therapy-related software programs for documentation and reporting.

Compensation and Benefits
