About the role

The Director, Sales & Operations Planning will serve as the strategic leader, aligning commercial demand, operational capacity, and financial objectives across Reworld's East Region facilities. Reporting to the CFO / VP Finance, East Region, this role will lead and continuously improve the company's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, bringing together Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain stakeholders to develop a unified operating plan that supports growth, optimizes capacity utilization, improves working capital performance, and drives informed business decisions. The successful candidate will leverage data, analytics, forecasting, and cross-functional leadership to ensure the organization effectively balances customer demand, waste flow, facility capabilities, and financial performance while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

• Travel Percentage: 15%

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across multiple facilities, coordinating input from Commercial, Operations, Finance, and other key stakeholders.

• Drive and maintain senior leadership engagement in the S&OP process by facilitating discussions, aligning priorities, and supporting informed decision-making.

• Facilitate the monthly S&OP cycle, including demand planning, supply planning, and cross-functional consensus planning.

• Analyze and resolve demand-related issues through effective cross-functional collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

• Provide input to business strategy development, long-term planning, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting activities.

• Support supply chain initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

• Develop demand plans based on business trends, customer requirements, and demand patterns, while identifying growth opportunities.

• Lead initiatives to improve inventory performance and achieve company inventory objectives.

• Develop, publish, and monitor key metrics to measure and improve planning effectiveness, inventory performance, and customer service.

• Coordinate the movement of Municipal Solid Waste and Profiled Waste by aligning waste type, material mix, and receiving facility requirements with Commercial and Operations teams.

• Produce weekly flash reports, planning dashboards, and data analytics to support operating and commercial decisions.

• Lead profiled-waste demand forecasting activities and perform inventory, optimization, and growth-opportunity analyses.

• Champion S&OP best practices across the organization and drive adoption through training, education, and change management initiatives.

• Develop, coach, and guide cross-functional teams in executing strategies that support key business objectives and performance indicators.

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers, suppliers, and external partners.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

• MBA required in Supply Chain, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Direct experience leading and managing a mature Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
• Extensive knowledge of demand planning, supply planning, working capital management, sales and marketing processes, finance and accounting principles, and order-flow management.
• Experience utilizing ERP systems to support planning, forecasting, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Strong understanding of supply chain best practices and operational processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, database tools, data analysis, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large and complex data sets.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate decision-making, and drive organizational change.
• Demonstrated experience developing, coaching, and leading cross-functional teams toward achieving business objectives and performance metrics.
• Proven success building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to educate, promote, and champion S&OP principles across all levels of the organization.
• Experience leading process compliance, continuous improvement, and training initiatives to ensure long-term adoption and success of planning processes.

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $157,000.00 - $224,400.00 USD per annum
