Escrow Officer

The escrow officer performs advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. They are required to exercise extreme independent judgement and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to handle any situation that may arise during the escrow process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to complete routine residential resale, refinance or builder escrow transactions, including document preparation and the accurate preparation and submission of the closing disclosure Ability to read and understand title commitments Ability to resolve title issues (e.g. corrective deeds, vesting, federal tax liens, abstracts of judgment, bankruptcies, mineral rights, boundary disputes and encroachments) Understands real estate regulations and guidelines. Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines Coordinates the closing between all parties to the escrowReturns all calls, voicemails and e-mails in a timely manner Performs other duties as assigned Maintains cordial relationship with realtors, lenders, builders, buyers and sellers to promote/solicit businessAdheres to company policies and guidelines. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE High school degree or equivalent requiredAssociates or Bachelor's Degree is preferred Minimum of 3 years escrow experience is required Knowledge of SoftPro is preferred Exceptional communication skills -- both written andverbal Business fundamental: maintains privacy and confidentiality of company information, as well as that of customers and co-worker Critical thinking: uses logical thought processes to analyze and draw conclusions Customer focused: is pleasant, courteous and professional when dealing with internal and external customers or clients Decision maker; applies critical thinking skills to solve problems encountered in the workplace Dependable and reliable: displays responsible behaviors at workInitiative: demonstrates a willingness to work and seeks out new challenges Integrity: treats others with honesty, fairness and respect Planning and organizing: plans and prioritizes work to manage time effectively and accomplish assigned tasks Team player: works effectively with others Technology: uses information technology and related applications to convey and retrieve information Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
