About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Technology to join its founding team and lead the development of a cutting-edge, AI-embedded technology platform for the specialty and surplus lines insurance market. The successful candidate will be a senior technology leader with a strong background in insurance or financial services, particularly in the areas of policy administration, claims, regulatory reporting, and reinsurance accounting. This role is pivotal in bringing the platform to life, with a focus on data as the core asset and integration as the key to its utility. The Head of Technology will be responsible for all aspects of platform delivery and engineering, including the implementation of core systems within an event-driven architecture, and will play a key role in team building and vendor management. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' experience in technology roles, with a proven track record in delivering greenfield platforms or major technology transformations. The role requires a candidate with deep technical expertise, including fluency in cloud infrastructure, event-driven architecture, API-first design, and cloud-native data platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in a startup or high-growth environment, and a background in technology consulting is a plus. The Head of Technology will work closely with the COO to ensure the platform's technical vision is realized, and will be instrumental in the strategic and architectural decision-making process. Strong leadership skills are essential, as the role demands the ability to balance technical depth with the management of a growing team and the navigation of a regulated insurance environment.
