As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screener in Sioux Falls, SD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.14 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, delivery personnel, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-screening protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen people, packages, deliveries, and/or vehicles entering designated areas in accordance with established site policies and applicable procedures.
• Verify identification, credentials, appointments, and authorized access permissions; direct individuals to appropriate check-in locations or departments.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting observations and concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, business spaces, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
