Service Technician
M&M BBQ Company LLC
Job Description
Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically skilled Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial BBQ equipment.
This is a hands-on position for someone who understands how equipment works, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable working independently in the field. Experience with restaurant equipment is a major plus.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on commercial BBQ equipment
- Troubleshoot motors, switches, relays, contactors, controls, wiring, and other electrical components
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and component replacement
- Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication when needed
- Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Diagnose equipment problems and determine the proper repair instead of simply replacing parts
- Travel to restaurants and customer locations for service calls
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Manage service calls, travel time, and daily workload efficiently
- Document repairs, parts used, equipment condition, and recommendations
- Communicate professionally with restaurant owners and managers.
- Maintain tools, service equipment, and company vehicle
- Follow company and customer safety procedures
Qualifications
- Strong electrical troubleshooting knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude and repair skills
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Experience working independently in the field
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of service calls
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Rotisserie equipment
- Motors, gearboxes, chains, bearings, and drive systems
- Commercial kitchen equipment
- Manufacturing or industrial equipment repair
Previous restaurant-equipment service experience is preferred but not required for someone with strong electrical, mechanical, and welding skills.
One of the unofficial perks: there's usually some pretty good food involved.
This isn't your typical service technician job. You'll work around some of the best BBQ joints, restaurants, chefs, and pitmasters in the industry. You'll get to work on unique commercial BBQ equipment, see behind the scenes at restaurants throughout the region, and become part of an industry built around great food, hospitality, and craftsmanship.
