One on-call shift is required per 6-week schedule. ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications are required. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, and previous travel experience is preferred. May consider a schedule of 36 hours per week. If working 4x12 shifts, the 4th shift may be scheduled from 12 PM to 12 AM or 11 AM to 11 PM. Self-scheduling is available. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1. Clinicians will provide care to patients of varying ages, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 70 patients with around 70 visits per day. The unit has 15 rooms and 18 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Registered nurses should be familiar with managing patients with abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, and various other emergency conditions. Additional competencies include managing ventilated patients, intubation, IV management, and other emergency interventions. Candidates must comply with mandatory drug screening and avoid any substances that may result in a positive test. Completion of required documentation is expected within a designated timeframe after acceptance of the position.
