Voluntary Retirement Savings Plans: 401 (k), 403b, 457, and Roth IRA Aflac voluntary coverage Position Summary Belle Creek Charter School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Reading Interventionist to provide targeted literacy instruction and intervention for students in grades K–8 who require additional support in reading and writing. The Reading Interventionist plays a vital role within the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), collaborating with classroom teachers, special education staff, multilingual learner (MLL) staff, administrators, and families to identify learning needs, implement evidence-based literacy interventions, and monitor student progress. This position supports students receiving Tier II and Tier III interventions, including students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), through both resource and co-teaching models. The Reading Interventionist works to close achievement gaps, promote equitable access to grade-level literacy instruction, and foster an inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to become a confident and successful reader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide Targeted Literacy Instruction Deliver individualized and small-group reading interventions using evidence-based literacy practices aligned with the Science of Reading. Provide instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written expression based on individual student needs. Differentiate instruction to address learning gaps identified through screening, diagnostic assessments, READ Plans, MTSS, and IEP goals. Incorporate instructional technology to increase student engagement and support literacy development. Support students in developing the foundational literacy skills necessary for success across all content areas. Support Resource and Co-Teaching Models Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide literacy support within the general education setting through co-teaching and push-in services. Deliver targeted intervention within a resource setting while ensuring instruction aligns with grade-level standards, classroom instruction, READ Plans, and IEP goals. Work alongside special education teachers to support students with disabilities in meeting literacy goals while maintaining access to rigorous grade-level instruction. Assessment and Progress Monitoring Administer literacy screeners, diagnostic assessments, and curriculum-based measures to identify student strengths and instructional needs. Monitor student progress regularly and use assessment data to adjust interventions and instructional practices. Maintain accurate documentation of intervention services, progress monitoring, READ Plans, and student performance. Participate in MTSS problem-solving meetings and contribute data to instructional decision-making. Analyze student achievement data to determine the effectiveness of interventions and make recommendations for continued support or changes in programming. Collaboration and Communication Partner with classroom teachers, special education staff, interventionists, instructional coaches, and administrators to coordinate literacy supports and ensure alignment between intervention and core instruction. Collaborate with the Multilingual Learner (MLL) team, special education staff, and classroom teachers to distinguish language acquisition needs from reading disabilities and ensure students receive appropriate literacy supports and interventions. Participate in MTSS, READ Plan, and IEP meetings, providing data and recommendations regarding literacy goals, interventions, accommodations, and student progress. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth, intervention strategies, and ways to support literacy development at home. Foster collaborative relationships with students, families, and staff to create an inclusive learning environment where every student has equitable access to high-quality literacy instruction. Program Development and Instructional Leadership Assist in implementing school-wide literacy initiatives and evidence-based intervention practices. Support teachers in implementing effective literacy instructional strategies for struggling readers. Collaborate in strengthening the school's MTSS framework to ensure equitable access to high-quality literacy instruction. Remain current on literacy research, structured literacy practices, Colorado READ Act requirements, and best practices for intervention. Participate in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Other Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. Attend professional learning, staff meetings, MTSS meetings, and required school events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Leadership. Required Qualifications: Valid Colorado Department of Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. READ Act Designation Demonstrated knowledge of the Science of Reading and evidence-based literacy intervention practices. Experience or training in literacy interventions for struggling readers, including students with learning disabilities. Knowledge of Colorado READ Act requirements, MTSS processes, and progress-monitoring practices. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. Proficiency with instructional technology, student information systems, and literacy assessment tools. Commitment to continuous professional learning and improving instructional practice. Belief that every student can achieve high levels of literacy through effective instruction, meaningful relationships, and high expectations. Preferred Qualifications Reading Specialist endorsement. Special Education endorsement. LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or other structured literacy training. Experience providing literacy interventions within elementary and/or middle school settings. Experience working within resource, push-in, and co-teaching instructional models. Experience collaborating with multilingual learner (MLL) and special education team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of literacy development, reading acquisition, and intervention practices. Ability to analyze assessment data and use it to inform instructional decisions. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and strategies to support diverse learners. Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset when responding to changing student needs. Commitment to creating an equitable, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Physical and Other Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout classrooms for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and classroom supplies up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in multiple instructional settings throughout the school day. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfort using technology for instructional delivery, data collection, progress monitoring, and communication.
