ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a well-established manufacturer known for its strong company culture and long employee tenure. As a Buyer at our Kenner facility, you will lead complex procurement and strategic sourcing activities that directly support production, engineering, and operations. This role carries a high level of autonomy - you will own supplier relationships, drive cost savings, and shape long-term supply chain strategy.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Source and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment to meet production and operational requirements
• Partner with the production team to forecast material needs and prevent supply shortages
• Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize cost and value
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and bid requests
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and specification compliance
• Identify and resolve defective or non-conforming goods in collaboration with quality control, end users, and vendors
• Maintain accurate procurement records including costs, delivery performance, quality, and inventory
• Stay current on market trends, pricing shifts, and new materials in assigned categories
• Build and sustain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Base salary: $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience

Requirements:
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field (preferred)
• Proficiency with ERP systems; Oracle experience a plus
• Strong foundation in strategic sourcing, bidding, contracting, and supplier negotiations
• Proven analytical and cost analysis skills - critical for this role
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Clear communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners
• CPP or CSCP certification a plus, but not required
