Performs designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members. Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment. May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations. Qualifications Education - Required High School Diploma/GED Experience - Preferred Less than 1 year Previous nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities - Required Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team. Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role. Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life, and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need on a daily basis. Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care. Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively. Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Uses the language of partnership with patients and families, engaging them in their health and health care.
