Market Development Specialist

Overview Leap’s mission is to combat climate change by enabling a reliable electric grid that runs on clean energy. The electric grid is transforming from fossil fuels to clean renewable energy. To do so, the grid needs more flexible demand and supply to help maintain stability and reliability. Leap opens up wholesale energy markets to all distributed energy resources, enabling our partners to get paid for providing flexibility to the grid. Leap is a privately-held tech company with funding from top VCs and well-known energy entrepreneurs. We are a remote distributed workplace with teammates based across the globe, in Europe and North America. We’re seeking an individual with expertise in wholesale electricity markets, demand response, and cross-functional project management. This role will help Leap evaluate future markets and programs to enter, and then coordinate and lead the cross-functional launch process for new chosen markets/programs. Responsibilities Evaluate future markets and programs to enter. Coordinate and lead cross-functional launch processes for new markets/programs. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in wholesale electricity markets, policy, utility demand response programs, and/or new market entry, or working with Distributed Energy Resources. Ability to investigate and synthesize complicated policies and market rules, and effectively communicate key concepts to a variety of stakeholders. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects effectively. Experience with North American, Japan, the UK, and/or European electricity markets. Experience managing cross-functional projects with a diverse group of stakeholders. Opportunity-focused and able to work cross-functionally across an organization to achieve consensus and jointly launch new markets, while also capable of autonomous work. Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment and the ability to be productive and engaged, manage time effectively, and succeed in a fully remote setting. Experience working in distributed teams and collaborating with team members across multiple time zones using remote tools such as Slack, Zoom and ClickUp (or other project management platforms). #J-18808-Ljbffr
