RN III - Float

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (PPPSW) is a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health care in Southern California. We are seeking an RN III (Float) to support our surgical and specialty service centers by delivering expert nursing care across multiple facilities. Travel between surgical sites in San Diego, Rancho Mirage, Riverside, and Imperial Valley. Schedule: 4/10 schedule with open availability Monday–Saturday. Responsibilities Provide flexible nursing coverage across specialty centers to ensure continuity of care. Deliver safe, compassionate patient care using clinical knowledge of abortion care, sedation, and emergency protocols. Oversee nursing services and support daily operations in Specialty Services Centers. Educate and dispense FDA‑approved birth control methods per provider orders. Administer oral, injectable, and controlled medications in accordance with provider direction. Maintain medication safety, compliance standards, and accurate documentation. Perform lab testing, venipuncture, injections, and referral follow‑up. Monitor patients recovering from analgesia and moderate or IV conscious sedation. Educate patients on post‑procedure care, contraception, and preventive health screenings. Maintain and check emergency and clinical equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and operations. Start IVs and Hep‑Locks, triage and respond to emergency situations. Support clinic flow, cleanliness, and readiness; identify and help resolve staffing, workflow, and equipment needs. Serve as a clinical resource and support team development through ongoing learning and professional development, including training and precepting new RN staff. Qualifications Completed a registered nursing program at an accredited school and holds an active license in California. Completed a recovery room or surgical training program. Has experience in emergency or triage services, surgical services, reproductive health care services, and/or abortion services. Is eager to work in an environment that supports the agency’s commitment to equity and belonging. Demonstrates empathy and compassionate care. Open to traveling to all Southern California counties and willing to provide coverage as needed.
