Residential Support Staff

Job Details Job Location: Hampton, VA 23666This position is responsible for the implementation of the daily needs ofeach resident based on their assessment and ISP. This position requires that staff adhere to the(DMHMRSAS) Licensure Guidelines and Regulations,and the Office of Human Rights Regulations.Additionallyother responsibilities and duties include the implementation of Individualservice plans, data collection, good oral and written communication skills;experience with implementing behavior management plans, and individualprogramming for individuals who have various levels of MentalRetardation. This position will also assist with the implementation ofproper medication management procedures. This position will besupervised by the Program Supervisor and / or Chief AdministrativeOfficer. MAJOR DUTIES: Assist with the implementation of Individual Service Plans, includingtraining in areas of personal care, community integration, andcommunication, fine gross motor skills, money management,personal shopping, domestic skills, medication administration, behaviormanagement, socialization, and use of community resources. Ensure that each individual meet the highest standards ofappearance and cleanliness. Identify escalating at-risk behavioral indicators and assist with the implementation and training of approved behavioral programs, written by a Licensed Behavioral Consultant. Utilize standard communication and other alternative communicationsystems with non-verbal and language delayed individuals. Implement range of motion exercises, regarding positioning andother motor skill training and techniques that have been written andapproved by a Licensed Physical Therapist. Record individual data collection based on the data collection schedule Provide individuals with supervision, assistance and support duringemergency situations. Attend and satisfactorily complete all required in-service trainings inareas of First Aid, CPR, OSHA, Medication Administration, MROrientation Workbook, and Physical Intervention Training. Provide transportation services to individuals, as needed. Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the ProgramSupervisor. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. Family Group Home Staff shall provide copies of requiredcertification that are current and applicable to the services being provided. The certificates required are: MR Orientation Workbook Training Medication Administration Criminal Background Check / Child Registry Background Check Behavior Management / Physical Intervention Training CPR/First Aid Food Handlers Card T TB Test Results OSHA KNOWLEDGE OF: Behavior Management Techniques Client Rights/Human Rights Individual Service Planning SKILLS IN: Observing, recording, and reporting behaviors Identifying and documenting an individual's progress, strengths andprogram needs Implementing ISP goals and objectives Operation of a motor vehicle, i.e., a van and / or car Documentation and Record keeping ABILITY TO: Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor with individuals,their families, other agencies and the general public Exercise good judgment that does not violate, demean, or compromise individuals, their rights, or the principles, and ethics of the organization Handle emergency and crisis situations both in the home andcommunity. Maintain an effective working relationship with individuals Maintain confidentiality of individual and agency records Perform routine duties without close supervision Lift up to 25 pounds Use office equipment (i.e., copy machine, fax machine and / or a computer) Complete other job duties as assigned by the Program Supervisorand / or Chief Administrative Officer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
