Accounting Manager

Senior Accounting Operations / Credit ManagerPRIMARY DUTIES:Manage Credit Manager, Accounting Operations Manager and their respective teamsMonitors, recommends, and assists with the implementation of improvements to departmental policies and procedures for accounting operations and creditEstablishes, monitors, and improves departmental policies and procedures for Credit approval, Collections, Chargebacks, and resolutionManagement of the following duties:Assists with vetting new and existing customers and vendors. This includes reviewing due diligence forms and updating information in the software utilized for FCPA.Interim and annual audit requestsEnforce proper accounting policies and processes. This includes accrual accounting with an understanding of cash management and ensuring journal entries are accurate.Reviewing and preparing account reconciliations for various accountsReviewing and managing bad debt per CECL, customer deductions, cash discounts reserves.Reviewing and filing annual 1099sAnnual unclaimed property reportsInitiate credits and adjustments to customer accounts within company policy limitsMonitor receivables and collections and provide updates of receivablesIdentify problem accounts and provide regular updates of receivables to managementNegotiate payment programs with delinquent customersIdentify accounts requiring collection agency or legal action and coordinate collections with third party contractorsDevelop processes and procedures for evaluating customer information and setting and changing credit lines/limits, as well as credit holdsPrepares annual budget for departmentMaintains a system for collecting and maintaining sales tax exemption formsReview customer contracts as they relate to payments, sales tax, and deductionsMaintain a system for evaluating online store credit card transactions to reduce fraudPerform other related duties as assignedEDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years in a credit management and accounting operations functionAny similar combination of education and experience which includes staff accounting experience, supervisory experience, and credit managementDemonstrated Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of AX operating system preferredSmoking is permitted in most areas of Zippo workplace facilities, other than certain designated non-smoking areas.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
