Travel RN MedSurg Hematology/Oncology - $1,790 per week

Jackson Nurse Professionals is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Jackson, Mississippi.

Job Description & Requirements

50 mile radius rule 

EPIC PROFICIENCY is required (there is NO training on site) 

- MUST have minimum of 2 years of nursing experience 

- MUST have Recent experience at a level 1 or large hospital (500+ beds) facility

- At least 1 previous travel assignment w/refernce HIGHLY PREFERRED 

- No more than 2 call offs and ON TIME attendance is Required

- Strong time management skills for very busy unit is needed 

- Good attitude with Team Work mentally ensures success Unit 5 South hematology oncology 

- ONC cert NOT required but would love candidates with experience/ Manager will teach clinician how to administer CHEMO

Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients

- Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, charge RN's have ACLS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients hem/onc, chemo

- Experience or 'Must have' skills: level 1 trauma experience required. experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes, hem/onc and chemo experience preferred 

- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit 

- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3south only

- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, central monitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nurses station and every patient is on tele
