Job Description Position Title: Food Service Assistant Job Code: 410C Division: Business Services Salary Schedule: Food and Nutrition Services Department: Food and Nutrition Services Workdays: 176 Reports To: Manager, Food and Nutrition Services Pay Grade: NW14 FLSA: Non-Exempt Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly Primary Function: Perform food service duties as assigned by the manager. Revision Dates: 3/26 Requirements Educational Level: None; High School Diploma or High School Equivalency, preferred Certification/License Required: None, an Orientation for Nutrition Employees [ONE] course is required during the first few months of employment. Experience: None required; training for all essential duties will be provided. Physical Activities: Bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.; walking, standing on cement floor for 4–7.5 hour shifts with breaks; climbing ladders; hands in hot and cold water; working in extreme temperatures from hot to sub‑zero; using cleaning chemicals in solution, aerosol, and/or powder form; subject to a noisy work environment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English; basic math and computer skills; excellent customer service and teamwork skills. The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements. Essential Duties Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Prepares, cooks, and serves food in accordance with established food safety procedures. Follows daily production schedules, including preparing recipes as written. Follows food safety guidelines for personal hygiene and practices safe hand washing. Cleans and sanitizes all utensils and equipment, mops floors, and disposes of garbage. Utilizes and stores cleaning chemicals (solutions, aerosols, powders) following established procedures. Participates in training, in‑service, and learning opportunities. Adheres to personnel requirements as outlined in the CCSD Administrative Rules, CCSD Employee Handbook, and the FNS Employee Handbook. Communicates effectively and promotes good public relations with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Works with peers/supervisors cooperatively and assists others when needed.
