Assembly Technician
LightPath
LightPath Technologiesis looking for a skilled Assembly Technician. This position will assemble, inspect and perform acceptance testing on complex optical systems. To accomplish this effectively, the work must be done independently from: engineering drawings, engineering changes, bills of material, work instructions, test procedures and production schedules.
Responsibilities:- Builds and validates precision electrical-optical-mechanical assemblies in strict accordance with procedure.
- Enters data into company databases
- Uses standardized tools and electric equipment to perform mechanical assembly on opto-mechanical assemblies.
- Executes simple standardized process inspections/tests throughout the production process.
- Interfaces with engineers to support special builds, and experiments with detailed instructions.
- Prepares completed assemblies for shipment.
- Follows control measures and processes to ensure the quality of modules produced.
- Maintains a clean work area, and is responsible for designated tools
- 3+ years of experience building and testing optical systems
- Experience with complex structures having precision parts
- Familiar with system level testing
- Comfortable operating PC based test equipment with custom software
- Experience diagnosing system level issues
- Capable of developing assembly procedures for prototype builds
