Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing and dynamic organization in the Knoxville area, is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Staff Accountant to support the accounting team through a period of continued growth. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions, assist with month-end close activities, and collaborate with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and enjoys solving problems while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Perform account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Maintain accrual schedules and support fixed asset accounting Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies Support financial reporting activities and schedule preparation Assist with audit requests and documentation gathering Work closely with AP, AR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial records Identify process improvements and help streamline accounting procedures Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of general accounting experience Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Experience supporting month-end close activities Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred Benefit offerings include PTO medical dental vision life insurance short-term disability 401K plan Provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
