Storage Post is hiring a Property Accountant to join our corporate accounting team in Buckhead, Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger for an assigned portfolio of real estate assets
• Post journal entries, including:
  • Prepaids
  • Accruals
  • Utility payments
  • Cash receipts
• Perform monthly income statement analysis against budgets and prior periods
• Partner with operations and field teams to review financial performance
• Prepare and distribute financial reports for internal stakeholders, equity partners, and lenders
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaids, and accruals
• Review, code, and approve vendor invoices
• Conduct ad-hoc financial research and analysis
• Monitor portfolio performance through key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 5+ years of accounting experience (required)
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and monthly close processes
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including:
  • Sort and filter functions
  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Financial analysis and reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a desire to continuously learn and improve

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-entity accounting
• Real estate, REIT, or property accounting experience
• MRI software experience
• Nexus AP or similar accounts payable software experience
