Essential Functions• Supervises and coordinates Logistics Coordinators (LCs) responsible for accurate order entry, timely delivery, and excellent customer service.• Attracts, retains, and motivates staff. Conducts effective and timely performance dialogues with staff members every quarter.• Participates in the recruitment process, approving the selection and hiring of employees for open job vacancies• Provides coaching and feedback to employees under his or her area of responsibility.• Ensures that employees receive proper training and instruction to perform assigned job duties.• Works closely with sales, operations, and customers to ensure products meet customer needs and expectations.• Performs and coordinates job-site activities by acting as a liaison between customers, haulers, sales staff, and dispatchers.• Works closely with sales and dispatchers to maximize trucking capacity at customer job-sites.• Attends pre-job meetings to discuss project and customer requirements.• Review daily order entry for completeness and accuracy.• Attend meetings as necessary with other departments.• Responsible for resolving issues/concerns with customers.• Assists Accounts Receivable in investigating disputed invoices, stand-by time, missing tickets, and missing ticket times.• Reviews, approves, and maintains daily reports.• Approves time cards, authorizes/maintains LC schedules, and tracks vacation usage.• Other duties may be assigned.Critical Competencies• High Integrity: Acts with unyielding integrity and honesty in business transactions, promoting company policies and holding self and other employees accountable, keeping promises and commitments.• Ownership Mentality: Assumes responsibility and makes decisions within your own level of authority.• Decision Making - Makes informed, effective, and timely decisions by evaluating available information, considering potential outcomes, and choosing the best course of action; analyzes options, weighs risks and benefits, and uses sound judgment to reach decisions that align with organizational goals and values. • Delegation Skills: Understanding what to delegate: Identifying which tasks can and should be delegated (e.g., routine tasks, those aligned with team member growth) versus those requiring the supervisor's direct involvement (e.g., strategic planning, sensitive information). • Develops Talent - Ensures that the organization has the talent required to meet current and future business needs by bringing the best talent on board, developing internal capabilities, building a pipeline of successors, and deploying talent appropriately.Education• BS/BA in business administration, logistics, construction management, or related degree is desirable, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. Experience• Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in construction materials or related industry. A minimum of one year of supervisory, customer service, and logistics experience is also required.
