Urology Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Urology Nurse to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with urological conditions, assist in procedures, and maintain a sterile environment within the clinic.

Unit Information

Department: Urology Clinic
Number of Beds: 6 clinic rooms, 4 procedure rooms
Patient Ratios: 33-40 patients per day, supported by 2 nurses, 1 CST, and 1 CNA
Common Diagnoses: BPH, Hematuria, UTI, LUTS, Frequency, Cystoscopy, Prostate biopsy

Shifts & Scheduling

Daytime hours, Monday - Friday
Staff rotates among various shifts:
- 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: None
Holiday Requirement: None (Clinics are closed on select holidays)

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the setup and takedown of procedures, ensuring a sterile field.
Place catheters and assist with patient care during urological procedures.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in urology, is preferred.
Ability to efficiently work in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

Floating Requirements: Potential to float to other specialty clinics while maintaining the same job duties.
Charting System: EPIC
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Scrubs (any color)
