About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Independent Nuclear Medicine/PET-CT Technologist to join our premier outpatient imaging department in the heart of The Woodlands, TX. In this role, you will step into an immediate 10 to 13-week contract due to an urgent medical leave. You will utilize advanced GE equipment including a GE Omni Legend scanner, managing hot lab duties and working independently—with a thorough, hands-on onboarding provided by our current staff technologist to ensure you are fully oriented and settled!

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostic Imaging: Demonstrate competency and proficiency following established protocols in the performance of all PET/CT imaging using a GE Omni Legend scanner.
• Specialized Procedures: Handle all radiopharmaceutical doses and Hot Lab responsibilities independently. Perform expert IV placement and operate automated contrast injectors.
• Clinical Collaboration & Workflow: Utilize Epic (EMR) and GE Universal (PACS) to accurately document and archive patient scans. (A clinical aide is available Monday–Friday to assist with IVs and patient positioning; weekend shifts are strictly solo).
• Patient-Centered Care: Provide exceptional care by managing an average daily volume of 8–12 scans per day (scheduled in 45-minute slots on weekdays and 1-hour slots on Saturdays) to reduce patient anxiety and track patients safely from exam start to discharge.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Setting: Outpatient Imaging Department
• Hours: Generally 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Wednesday/Thursday–Friday, with Saturdays 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Sundays closed.
• Work-Life Balance: Zero on-call requirements after 7:00 PM or during scheduled days off. One Saturday per month is a non-operational day!
• Patient Volume: A highly manageable pace of 8–12 scans per day on average, ensuring you can focus on quality patient care.
• Team Dynamics: Join a supportive environment with built-in flexibility; leadership is highly flexible and willing to customize the shift structure to accommodate candidate preferences if not open to 7 on 7 off.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
• Certifications: Active ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required. (Note: A post-primary ARRT CT certification is not required for this role).
• Licensure: Must hold an active Texas Medical Board (TMB) Medical Radiologic Technologist license in hand at the time of submission. Candidates with licenses "in process" cannot be considered.
• Basic Life Support: Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required (ACLS not required).
• Preferred Experience: Prior hands-on experience with Epic and GE Universal PACS is highly preferred. Must possess the clinical confidence to run the department solo, especially during weekend hours.
