Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Neuro Med-Surg Telemetry – Maryland

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, every other weekend and holiday required. Patient ratio 1:5. Flexible contract lengths available, including assignments longer than 13 weeks.

Highlights:

• 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit within a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Diverse case mix including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, post-laminectomy, post-ACDF, post-craniotomy, and ETOH withdrawal
• Continuous bedside EEG monitoring, telemetry, and bladder scanning utilized on the unit
• Unit serves as telemetry overflow for various patient populations beyond neurologic diagnoses
• Charting system: Cerner
• Teaching hospital environment with trauma experience preferred

Requirements:

• Current Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Neurology experience required; CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required
• Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury required
• Feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis care, and renal-failure experience required
• Surgical drain, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
• Basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias required and must be successfully completed before orientation
• Maryland-approved trauma education required (16 hours by week 27)
• 8 hours annual stroke continuing education required
• 4 hours annual trauma-related continuing education required
• Teaching hospital and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred; TCRN preferred
