ROLE OVERVIEW

Fashion Nova is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead day-to-day social strategy, creative development, and channel execution across the brand’s social platforms. Reporting to the Director of Social Media, this role will manage a team of four Social Media Specialists and play a key role in translating Fashion Nova’s broader social strategy into distinctive, culturally relevant content and campaigns. We are looking for someone who thinks beyond the content calendar. This person should have a strong creative point of view and the ability to build a social campaign from the initial idea through visual direction, platform strategy, programming, and execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing a campaign concept, giving creative feedback, identifying an emerging TikTok behavior, reviewing performance data, and leading a team through a high-volume publishing schedule.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

This role sits at the intersection of social strategy, creative thinking, culture, and team leadership. We are looking for someone who sees social as a creative medium rather than a distribution channel. Someone who has taste, understands what makes people stop, watch, share, comment, and participate, and knows how to turn a strong idea into a full social campaign. The right person should be able to look at a product launch or business objective and ask, “What is the social idea?” Then build the creative and strategic framework that brings that idea to life across channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and develop a team of four Social Media Specialists, providing clear direction, feedback, prioritization, and day-to-day leadership. Translate the Director of Social Media’s broader strategy into channel plans, campaigns, programming, and daily execution. Develop distinctive social-first campaign concepts for product launches, collections, cultural moments, partnerships, promotions, and major brand initiatives. Build campaigns with a clear central idea, visual direction, tone, storytelling approach, and platform-specific execution. Bring a strong creative point of view to social, helping shape how Fashion Nova looks, sounds, and behaves across platforms. Partner closely with Creative, Content, Studio, Influencer Marketing, Brand Marketing, E-commerce, and other teams to turn business priorities into compelling social ideas. Lead social brainstorming and concept development, pushing the team beyond expected executions and identifying new formats, storytelling devices, and creative approaches. Oversee content calendars and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Establish clear briefs for Social Media Specialists, creators, editors, and cross-functional partners. Review content before publishing and provide actionable feedback on concepts, copy, editing, pacing, visual direction, and platform relevance. Identify cultural conversations, memes, platform behaviors, emerging creators, trends, and real-time opportunities relevant to Fashion Nova. Balance planned campaigns with reactive social content, ensuring Fashion Nova moves at the speed of culture without losing its brand identity. Develop platform-specific programming rather than treating every social channel as an extension of the same content calendar. Work with the Director of Social Media to establish content franchises, recurring series, tentpole moments, and experimentation across channels. Monitor social performance across reach, views, engagement, shares, saves, audience growth, traffic, and conversion. Use performance data to identify what is working, what should change, and where the team should test new creative approaches. Present social performance, creative learnings, cultural insights, and recommendations to the Director of Social Media and broader Marketing team. Improve workflows across planning, briefing, approvals, production, publishing, and reporting to support Fashion Nova’s high-volume content needs. Maintain consistency across brand voice and visual identity while ensuring each platform feels native to its audience and culture. Support community strategy and social response during major launches, cultural moments, and high-visibility conversations. Stay current on platform changes, creator behavior, internet culture, emerging technologies, AI tools, and new social formats.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

5–7+ years of experience in social media, content, or digital marketing, preferably within fashion, beauty, retail, entertainment, or another fast-moving consumer brand. 2+ years of experience managing or directly leading social media team members. Demonstrated experience developing social campaigns from concept through execution. Strong creative instincts with the ability to articulate visual direction, storytelling, tone, and campaign ideas. A portfolio or body of work demonstrating distinctive social campaigns, content concepts, or platform programming. Deep understanding of Instagram and TikTok, with strong working knowledge of YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Strong understanding of internet culture, creators, memes, trends, and how brands participate in culture without feeling forced. Experience managing high-volume content calendars and fast production timelines. Ability to write clear creative briefs and give effective feedback to creators, designers, editors, and social teams. Strong understanding of social analytics and the ability to translate performance data into creative and strategic decisions. Experience working cross-functionally with Creative, Influencer, Brand Marketing, E-commerce, Studio, and Performance teams. Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate the thinking behind a creative or strategic recommendation. Highly organized and decisive, with the ability to prioritize quickly in a fast-moving environment.
