Sign on Bonus: Up to $5k Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
• Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
• Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
• Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Mammography and Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions [Required]• Ability to determine appropriate technical factors [Required]• Knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations [Required]• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety [Required]• Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required]• Ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition [Required]• Good organizational skills [Preferred]• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment [Preferred]• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]• Ability to make judgments that must be made on a regular basis regarding exam protocols and imaging techniques, based upon patient condition and provisional diagnosis [Required]• Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required]• Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required]• Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required]• Performance of 2D and 3D mammography exams [Required]• Teamwork [Required]• Verbal Interpersonal [Required]• Customer Relations [Required]• Grammar/Spelling [Required]• Read/Comprehend written instructions [Required]• Follow verbal instructions [Required]• Keyboarding (manual) [Required]• Computer (visual) [Required]
